BASKETBALL TESTHARRISON BASKETBALL TEST
Harrison has
developed a four-item basketball test for boys aged 12-14. These four items
consist of scoring, passing, dribbling and rebounding. The duration of
application of each item is 30 seconds. At the end of the two attempts given
during the test, the highest score was recorded.

1. FIELD - GOAL SHOOTING
Purpose: To
measure the shooting ability
Level and gender: High
School Boys
Equipment:
Basketball, Stopwatch
Marking:
Description:
Subject stand close
under the basket in any position desires. The subject starts throws as many
baskets as possible within 30 seconds Duration.
Scoring:
One point is scored
for every basket.
Rules:
If the ball is missed
the student can continue with spare ball.
2. SPEED PASS
Purpose: To
measure the Passing ability
Level and gender: High
School Boys
Equipment: Regular basketball, stopwatch
and wall space.
COURSE AND MARKINGS:
Description:
The subject stands
behind the restraining line that is drawn 8 feet from the wall.
On the signal to begin he passes the
ball again of pass he likes. The wall in any type of pass he likes.
He attempts to catch the rebound and
pass it again as many times as
Possible for thirty seconds.
For the pass to be legal, both the
feet of the subjects must remain behind the restraining line.
Rules:
The subject
must maintain control of the ball and that he would not be thrown a new ball if
he missed the rebound.
Score:
The final score is
the No of times the ball hits the wall within 30 seconds time period.
Three trails are given the best score taken
as the final score.
3. DRIBBLING TEST
Purpose: To measure the ability of
dribbling
Level and gender:
High School Boys
Equipment: Basketball, hurdles, measuring
tape, marking powder and stopwatch
Marking:
Procedures
Chair or obstacle
placed on level with the starting line.
Totally 5 chair / obstacles are
placed in a line 10 feet apart.
The subject starts from one end of the
starting line, dribbles around the chairs and back to the other end of the
starting line.
Scoring
The score is the
number of midpoints passed in 30 seconds of dribbling.
The numerals shown alongside of the
obstacle help in making this count.
Thus, each round trip counts ten points
1. 4. REBOUNDING
Purpose: To measure the rebounding
ability
Level and gender: High
School Boys
Equipment: Basketball, basketball back
board, and stopwatch
Marking
Procedures
The subject stands
near a basketball back board with a basketball with his hands.
The test consists of tossing the against
the back board and returning it as rapidly as possible in thirty seconds.
Catching and
returning the ball to the backboard while the feet are off the floor are
encouraged.
Scoring:
The score is the
number of times the ball hits the backboard in thirty seconds.
